Maple painted side chair with cane seat. The rectangular crest rail sits upon the stiles and has been stenciled in gold with a stylized acanthus leaf pattern. The medial back slat is plain and rectangular. The stiles are rectangular and serpentine shaped above the seat rail and raked backwards as they approach the floor. The front legs are straight, tapering, and turned just below the curved seat rail. The front stretcher is curved, flat and stenciled with gold highlights. The remaining stretchers are plain and rounded. The entire chair, except for the cane seat, has been painted black upon which gold highlights were added.
