Darubini Academy, Machakos, Winner of the Visual Art under 13 Category, MASK Prize.

"My name is Stanley Kinuthia. I am nine years old and I come from Matasia. I drew an elephant, I took sticks and leaves and then stuck them together. The sticks were taken from a broom stick. My ideas come from my brain. I like to draw cars, animals and houses. I got the leaves from C1a tree. If I have no work to do, then l like to draw. Some things are difficult to draw but some are easy like Animals and houses, and apartment buildings. I’ve also used egg shells. I crushed them and then spread them on the sheet."

The MASK Prize, set up by the charity MASK, fosters creativity and self-expression, leading to better employment and leadership opportunities. The competition is open to those under 25 in Africa and of African origin living outside the contient and incorporates entrepreneurial ideas as well as the visual arts.
