The Beheading of St. John Baptist

St. John kneels at left. A pompously clothed man, his hat ornated with feathers, spurred boots, is turning the head of the saint into the right position. His left hand leans upon the uncovered sword. The scenery is a vaulted room with railed window and a curtain. A bed stands in the room. Framing line.
