The Brahman comes upon a lion who has a deer and a gazelle as his viziers, from a Tuti-nama (Tales of a Parrot): Twenty-first Night

Unknown Artist

Driven by poverty, a Brahman left home to seek his fortune and came upon a wilderness ruled by a lion. The lion's gentle advisors, a spotted deer and a blackbuck, dissuaded him from devouring the man. They told the lion that if he instead were to give the Brahman the riches left in his territory by previous travelers-who presumably died there-then this Brahman would spread the lion's reputation as a generous and magnanimous monarch.
