The Story of Gurkhas

Shankar Gurung is a self-taught artist who paints in oils, acrylics, and watercolours.

He has been in love with drawings and paintings from his childhood. He has then continued his painting only after his 7th year in service, focusing on improving his techniques.

While still learning and developing his techniques, Shankar loves landscapes, portraiture and colour, the vibrant colour of oil paints, and the immediacy of water colour.

Shankar Gurung serves as a Lance Corporal in The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment, Hampshire.

Shankar is raising money for the Gurkha Welfare Trust, and you can donate to them by participating in our silent auction or by donating directly on the below links.
