Timber yard fire on 4 September 1807

The fire at the timber yard during the English bombardment of Copenhagen in 1807. The timber yard was outside the Vestervold embankment. The fierce fire produced a powerful, flaming glow in the night sky. The picture shows fleeing Copenhageners on the Amager Fælled common.
