Boss, for one of the cheek-pieces of a horse bit, made of dark bronze, circular, the raised centre spirally fluted or whorled, and coming to a point; undulating border, the alternate facets of both the whorl and the border are decorated with scrolls (see also A399).

A similar boss was in the collection of the antiquarian Victor Gay (Gay, Glossaire Archéologique, p. 178).
