Object Image
Cuisse, for the left leg, of nineteen lames detachable at the ninth by means of a stud and turning-pin. The broad top lame is boxed to fit the flange of the breastplate and was secured by a hook which engaged with an eye which protruded through a slot in the lame. Knee-piece of five lames is included in the total. Sunk borders, the edges turned over but not roped. All the plates are bordered with a single incised line. Brass-headed rivets. The surface is now black, but there are traces of the original blued surface, and the edges of the lames inside the engraved line appear to have been left bright. There are the remains of a loop to fix round the thigh at the bottom of the upper section....
