Venus, in a solitary state
'Venus, in a solitary state' simply explores the rebirth of Venus through liberty, independence and freedom. She is seen accompanied by no-one. In need of no-one. Surrounded by only beauty, happiness and abundance. Representing a sense of strength many of us struggle to obtain. It was inspired by 'Venus and Adonis' by Jacopo Amigoni from where the particular pose is taken. Which is based on love and tragedy. A moment of pleading, desperation, loss and fear. Here, Venus is still a metaphor of love. However, it expresses a self-love others cannot give to us but we can give to ourselves.
