Wang WLTC

Wang Laboratories

CPU: NEC 8086@8 MHz, RAM: 512KB, Ηard disk: 10MB, Οperating system: WANG & DOS 3.2, Screen: 9,8”, Weight: 9kg, Υear: 1985

The Wang WLTC was a laptop computer that was innovative for its time as it had a built-in dot matrix printer. The 5.25” floppy drive was a separate unit. Also, its screen could be removed relatively easily and then the computer looked more like a typewriter. The Wang WLTC laptop was designed in 1985 by Jonathan Huntington and it was released the same year by the Wang company. The WLTC model was not 100% compatible with IBM and it could run some but not all IBM software. It had a built-in modem, a serial port, a keyboard port and a SCSI connection. The screen was detachable for future upgrades of the model, but its successor never built. Its price was $4,000.
