Watch chain with fob seals and lockets

England?

Watch chains often had attached to them useful and personal items, such as seals, for impressing ones monogram into the wax seal on an envelope. This watch chain belonged to Baron Ferdinand, the builder of Waddesdon, whose wife Evelina died in childbirth within a year of their marriage. Touchingly, Ferdinand's watch chain also includes her seal, and a portrait of her in a locket.
