Sugar Sifter, 1808

Hourglass handle circular bowl pierced with circles and crosses. Part of a George III hour glass pattern table service, each piece engraved with the crest of Butler and the Collar and Badge of the Order of St. Patrick surmounted by a Marquess' coronet Marked with the marks for William Eley, William Fearne and William Chawner and date letter N (1808). Gift of H.M.Treasury 1982 (accepted in lieu of death duties from the collection of the Marquess of Ormonde)
